If you suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren’s Syndrome or a related disease, you will benefit from eating foods that reduce inflammation everyday. Also, my Rheumatologist prescribed 1000 mg Tmeric, 3000 mg Omega 3s, 1000 mg Vitamin C, and 100 mg Zinc daily. I also take a multi-vitamin and Vitamin D for overall well-being. Some of the foods that reduce inflammation follow.
- Fatty Fish like Salmon, Mackerel, Tuna and Sardines are high in Omega 3s. I like to eat them grilled or baked.
- Fresh or frozen berries are great for dessert, breakfast or a snack.
- Olive oil
- Leafy greens
There are certain foods that should be avoided to reduce pain and flares.
- Chips, crackers, etc.
- Sodas and sugary drinks
- Fried foods
- Dairy products
- Artificial sweeteners
- Sugar and sugary foods
