Hebrew 2:17 “Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.”
Jesus has taught us by example to be merciful and compassionate. Not only does he forgive us for sins, but he does not want people to suffer. It is so easy to hold a grudge when others hurt us, but we need to follow Jesus’s example and show mercy. When someone is sick, show compassion. We should be careful of our language so we don’t unmeaninfully hurt others. It is difficult to live with Christ-like character, but we should all strive to measure up daily. We will continue to grow.
This week I challenge you to show mercy for those with whom you come in contact. We never know what others are going through. Mercy is one of the best gifts you have to change the world. Don’t forget to show yourself some mercy. God bless you.
