Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Colossians 3:13
It’s forgiveness Thursday and I have a special shout out to my oldest child — Happy Birthday! Today, I have so many wonderful memories and I just can’t imagine my life without my children.
Sunday, my husband and I went to see the movie The Shack, and I have reflected many times this week about how we should not judge others and we should always be forgiving. The scene that sticks out in my mind the most is where the father has to decide between which of his children should live. Sometimes I guess I need a reminder that we are all God’s children. He loves us all. I would never be able to sacrifice one child for the other. There is evil in the world, but I’m so thankful God allows me the opportunity to forgive others, while he takes care of the rest. If you haven’t seen the movie and you are struggling with forgiveness, especially if you are struggling with forgiving someone who has committed a crime that has hurt you (murder, rape, child abduction, etc), give the movie a chance. It really put things into perspective for me. The trailer is on my movie review page. So, today I encourage you to join me in forgiving yourself and others.
