Every good and perfect gift comes from above.  James 1:17

It’s Forgiveness Thursday!  The work week for many is coming to a close and it’s a great time to forgive others, forgive yourself and ask for forgiveness.  While you are enjoying the forgiveness opportunity, take time to be thankful.

Have you ever noticed how that no matter where you go, if you talk to someone long enough, you have a connection through another person and are often even related?  This has happened to me many times.  I have a friend through business that I have known for about twenty years, but only on a superficial level.  It’s the type of relationship where you know the person’s name, you are always glad to see them, but only talk about the weather.  Well, I decided last fall that I wanted to get to know this nice lady a little bit better, and I spent some time with her at a conference.  She is so kind.  What a blessing!  Yesterday, she visited my office on business.  Afterwards we enjoyed lunch and a wonderful Bible discussion.  That’s when she shared that she had found out accidentally that she knew my aunt and cousins.  She had dated one of my cousins a couple of times, and married one of his friends.  That’s not all.  She had visited his house in another state and their daughters were roommates in college.  Who knew?  To me she was already family, but I think it’s interesting how we move in and out of each other’s lives not knowing connections.  God’s timing is so perfect.  We share a love for God and a thirst for knowledge and understanding.  I’m so thankful for this opportunity.

Today, I encourage you to be thankful when you practice forgiveness.  Please share your stories. God bless you.

  1. Love your story about your co-worker. How wonderful to have a new friend who also loves God. As for forgiveness, I love how my husband and I forgive one another when we have hurt each other. It is so nice not to hold a grudge or remember past fights. I love this about being a Christian.
