Try Something New Tuesday – Put God First in Your Relationship

For we live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

It’s Try Something New Tuesday! Today my husband and I are celebrating 30 happy years of marriage. Happy doesn’t mean without struggles, but there is no one I would rather be married to. He is my best friend. We take care of each other and we have been so blessed. God has always been part of our relationship. However, in recent years we have grown together spiritually. At my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding, the reverend spoke about how including God in your relationship is the right way to live. I couldn’t agree more. Putting God first in your relationship can make a huge difference in your happiness.

If you are not in a relationship and you are looking for love, try something new.  Look beyond romantic attraction.  Romance is very important in a relationship, but so are common interests and belief systems, and commitment.  My husband and I met on a blind date.  I think God knew what he was doing because we probably would not have otherwise met.

Our Wedding Song —

So, if you haven’t included God in your relationship, try it! I promise you will have no regrets. If you are not in a relationship, ask God to help you find a Christian partner. If you are married and going through struggles, ask God to help. Sometimes it takes time, but God will come through for you. God bless you.

  1. Congratulations! You look very happy, though I know from experience that 30 years has its share of downs as well as the ups. Wishing you joy in your future together. 🙂
