Spread the Love Friday – Use the Fruits to Put Others First

Has anyone just been beyond patient with you when you are nervous and simply can't get anything right? How much did that mean to you? Not only . . .

If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.  Galatians 5:25

Happy Friday!  Start your day by spreading the love.

One easy way to spread the love is to put others first.  Love your family and neighbors enough to put their best interest ahead of your own.  My husband is a professional at this.  He always put my needs ahead of his own.  What a blessing he is to me and everyone he knows!

If you don’t know where to start, let me suggest the Fruits of the Spirit?  If you are unfamiliar, the Bible says the Fruits of the Spirit are: patience, goodness, gentleness, self-control, faithfulness, kindness, peace, joy and love.  None of us are perfect in any of these areas, so we need to be constantly working to improve to help others.  We can also pray for God to strengthen us in one or all of these areas, but be prepared to stretch and grow.

I’m currently struggling with self-control on my new weight loss plan, and patience has always been a weakness.  Yet, I know how it feels when someone is patient with me.  Has anyone just been beyond patient with you when you are nervous and simply can’t get anything right?  How much did that mean to you? Not only did they make you feel loved, but they taught you the importance of being patient with others.  It works similarly with the other gifts.

This Friday I challenge you to improve your gifts and put others first. God bless you.
