God’s Name Is a Place of Protection.  Proverbs 18:10

Praise be the name of the Lord!  I’m moving slowly at home this morning, but I’m still moving.  Praise God!

One week go today we picked up our little bundle of joy, Baron Dominic.  Dominic has been quite a handful.  We love him.  I can’t believe how much the little guy eats and how quickly he gets into trouble.

The only one I know who can get into trouble as quickly as Dominic is me.  Yet, no matter what I’ve done or how hopeless life seemed at the time, God still had me.  Joel 2:25 says when we have faith “God can restore what is broken and change it into something amazing.”  I have found this to be true countless times in my life.

Have you ever wondered what it means to “be faithful” or to “have faith”?  It sounds like a complicated set of rules will follow, but the concept of faith is really quite simple. Faith is believing in something beyond a shadow of a doubt without seeing the proof.  Tobymac sings in one of my favorite songs Feel It, that “we can’t see the wind, but it moves the leaves from the bottom to the top of the tallest trees”.  So, if you believe wind is real, you must have faith in it.  You can’t see the wind, only how it affects things like leaves, our hair blowing, and similar things.  God is the same.  I’ve never seen God, but I can’t begin to count the number of times and ways I’ve seen his work.

You may say, well all of those situations or events can be explained by science.  Well, that is probably true, but the exact combination of scientific findings happened when I needed it almost every time.  Isn’t that great!  Even better, I’m not the only one who has seen God’s miracles.  Doctors are scientists, and guess what? I know many who attend church and pray.  My husband was telling me a few days ago where he read that scientists had proven a landslide had blocked the Jordan River long enough to stop the flow of water for Joshua and the Israelites to cross.  I don’t doubt this at all.  My question to doubters is who do you think created the earth, and landslides for that matter? Better yet, who do you think created a landslide at the perfect time?

There will always be skeptics.  You know, those people who say “that was just a coincidence”.  How sad to think everything depends on you!  How sad to never be able to ask for help!  Trust me when I say that life is so much better when you depend on and have faith in God.

Today, praise and thank God for being there with you. Have faith and let God help YOU, his child.  God bless you!
