Use Your Gifts to Change the World Wednesday – What’s Your Purpose

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.  Hebrews 11:6

Happy Wednesday!  Every week I discuss using your gifts to change the world.  Have you ever felt like you just didn’t know what your gifts were?  Do you feel like you don’t know where to begin to make change?  Do you feel small in the grand scheme of the universe? I feel this way too sometimes.

I’ve been reading a book called Dream Thieves:  Overcoming Obstacles to Fulfill Your Destiny (Rennes, 2012).  Renner points out that sometimes while we are trying to discover our purpose, people, time, Satan and other things try to block us.  I believe that to be true. I also believe that sometimes we pray and God sends us a message on which way to go, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t change the direction later.  In life, we have to crawl before we can run.  When we pray and listen to God, he will help us know where to start.  As we grow as Christians he sometimes asks us to move into a new area.  This can be a little frightening because growth is stressful, but if you take a chance you will find your life changes drastically for the better over time.

Have a great Wednesday.  God bless you as you discover your God-given purpose.

    1. Me too Anna. I think purpose is something that we are constantly working on. About the time we think we have everything figured out, God shows us more. It’s a great journey!

I believe that when we are trying to do good that there are forces that try to stop us from doing that. Great post and great book recommendation!

  3. So much truth in crawling before walking when it comes to His word. What joy there is in the crawling to His throne.

    1. I love the thought of crawling to His throne. Beautiful!

Purpose and Gifts are twins, as we see how the Spirit of God equips people. Vocational skills are also gifts of His Spirit and we see a great example in Exodus 35:30-35.

    1. That is right! Thank you.

  5. Great and inspiring. Thank God for letting me work in His purpose in my life
