Use Your Gifts to Change the World Wednesday – Faith and Works

“As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.”. *James 2:26 NIV*

Happy Wednesday. This week seems to be flying by. This morning when I was reading my Bible I noticed in the book of Hebrews that faith was very important. Then, I turn to the book of James only to learn that while faith is important, it’s not enough. It’s not enough to believe. We must strive to live a righteous life by avoiding sin. This is not only important for us as individuals, but as examples for others. Have you ever considered that others are watching to see what you do, especially since you are a Christian. When I decided to pursue a degree in Christian theology, I realized that I needed to be an example for others. Yet, the truth is I should have been doing that all along.

James goes on to explain that teachers are held to a higher accountability. While Christian teachers are not perfect, they need to strive to live a righteous life. Since I started teaching adult Sunday School, I am even more aware of my actions, striving daily to live a righteous life with my faith in God.

Today, be an example for the world to see and make a difference one life at a time. God bless you!
