On Clementine

The setting of the story is based on a similar small Florida town that was once the satsuma capital. Yet, there is something more . . .

I’m excited to share that I’m about half way into writing my newest novel. It’s a thriller that takes place in a fictional northwest Florida town called Clementine. What does the name Clementine bring to your mind? Maybe it’s the miniature oranges that are easy to pack in you children’s lunch box or maybe it’s a special jam or dessert.

The setting of the story is based on a similar small Florida town that was once the satsuma capital. Huge festivals took place there. Yet, there is something more. Clementine brings images of a friendly small community where everyone is safe. It’s a place where no one worries about locked doors. The community is a family that welcomes strangers into their homes. It’s a place we’d all love to live and raise families. Life is simple and slow moving. The mere sound of the name brings a smile. Don’t be fooled by the name, though. Danger lurks beneath the surface.
